Its confirmed and final 
MTV-Philippines Press conference for the March 7, 2009 Eraserheads Reunion Concert (Part 2) was held this afternoon at Italianni’s restaurant on Bonifacio High Street in Taguig. Venue is set: SM Mall of Asia.
Ely, Marcus, Raimund and Buddy took turns in answering questions from the media and they reiterated that this 2nd Reunion concert will be totally different (and not just a continuation of the August 30, 2008 concert). Ely confirmed that his health is in good condition. The band members estimated that they will be playing around 20+ songs.

Diane Ventura (Ely Buendia’s manager) had a phone interview with News on Q (QTV) and confirmed the Eheads Reunion Part 2 concert on March 7. She said Ely was given official go signal by his doctors.
Ventura said the concert would be held to give Eraserheads fans closure.
Early this morning I was busy posting about the Eheads Reunion Concert DVD and this news seems to be information overload. And now…
The Eraserheads Reunion Concert Part 2 is now a reality special thanks to MTV and Smart. Dubbed as the “Final Set” it is slated on March 7, 2009. Venue is still in the works. Philstar’s Supreme posted this:
It’s confirmed. The Eraserheads concert “The Final Set” is set.
Save the date: March 7, 2009. The concert is produced by MTV and Smart with the venue yet to be announced.
For now, it’s a tossup between The Fort and SM Mall of Asia grounds.
They’re just about to sign the contract and will have their press conference on January 19.

For the part 2 tickets, sorry no info yet. I’ll post details here as soon as I have them. For now, I’ll settle with playing the Eheads Reunion CD over and over again

If it was “indeed” a marketing strategy, it was one brilliant strategy and I like it
I have to agree with BNK and Menard. When I heard the news, I also entertained the idea that the entire thing (including Buendia’s alleged collapse during the reunion gig) was a marketing strategy after all. But if it’s indeed so, then it was a brilliant gimmick. And I appreciate such effective twist in promoting something elusively wonderful.

I would like to set the record straight (since I got some inquiries on comments on this post) that I do _NOT_ agree on BNK that the first concert was intentionally cut, and it was all marketing strategy. But I do agree on its brilliance if “indeed” it was a marketing strategy. I approved BNK’s comment since I am open minded, and I am trying to be fair to all comment posters (this got me thinking to post something about my comments approval/moderation style for this blog). This is a new concert, so new tickets rin sya. Not sure kung saan mo gagamitin yung tickets mo nung first concert? Pero kung me nagsasabi na makakadiscount ka pag me ticket ka nung unang concert, wala pa akong nababalitaan na ganun.

on BNK, how could you call it a marketing strategy if the life of one of the members was at stake.
It’s unfair to call it a marketing strategy. I know ely. He’s not the type who fool people and make a mock of his health just for the sake of money. I saw him in the hospital. I saw him in the wake of his mother that time. You saw him on television how his body almost deteriorated to bone and skin, to exaggerate if i may. it is unfair to someone who has risked his life to give in to their fans’ clamor. In the process of their preparation for the concert, his mother was struggling with cancer at the hospital and four or five days before the concert, her mother died. You just can’t imagine how Ely, who was so closed to his mother, grappled with his emotions: his love for his mother vs his commitment to contracts and fans. And I think he already felt the brunt of the pressure on his health but he had to push through with the concert. He gave his all that time but he had his limits. So i think it’s unfair to insinuate he deliberately made-up his third angioplasty.
