Blog Comment Spam

One thing I noticed in my blogs is that if the post is getting some considerable page views, comment spam will surely follow. I have created my formal comment policy to set some guidelines for legit commenter but I believe comment spammers are using some automated system of some sort so creativity in handling the situation will surely help. Yes anti-spam plugins and captcha challenge-response will help mitigate the problem but a responsible blogger know that its not a perfect solution.

So why not expose them here in my blog right?

Let me share some comment spam that I got recently so that I can share my personal views regarding each comment spam.

Comment Spam 01

Tired of obtaining low amounts of useless visitors for your website? Well i want to share with you a fresh underground tactic which makes me personally $900 per day on 100% AUTOPILOT. I really could be here all day and going into detail but why dont you simply check their website out? There is really a excellent video that explains everything. So if your seriously interested in making simple money this is the site for you. Auto Traffic Avalanche

Anything “underground” will smell fishy to me and adding USD per day figures to it will make the situation worse and will make me more cautious so “Nice try!”. This comment spam intends to optimize their Auto Traffic Avalanche keyword.

Comment Spam 02

Hey guys i want to share with you a way i make $500 daily and i only spend 15 minutes doing it a day! Anyone can do it, you dont NEED to have a website. I strongly recommend you check their website out as there is really a brilliant video that explains each thing you need to know. Check them out at Mobile Monopoly. That’s the name of the System and i recommend should you own a website that you at-least go and take a peak, you wont regret it…

Wow $500 daily, but I remember the old saying “There is no such thing as a free lunch“. This comment spam plans to boost their ranking with the keyword Mobile Monopoly.

Comment Spam 03

Why have you taken out my post? It was very helpful information and i assure atleast 1 person found it helpful unlike the rest of the comments on this site. I’ll post it again. Fed up with obtaining low numbers of useless traffic to your site? Well i want to share with you a fresh underground tactic that produces me personally $900 every day on 100% AUTOPILOT. I could truthfully be here all day and going into detail but why dont you simply check their website out? There is really a excellent video that explains everything. So if your seriously interested in producing effortless cash this is the site for you. Auto Traffic Avalanche

Again, another Auto Traffic Avalanche optimizing kiddie. This time they use the “paawa” (pity) effect asking you why did the Blog Admin deleted their previous comment (how can I delete something that I did not posted/approved in the first place).

All 3 comments share the following characteristics:

  • came from 1 IP address 🙂
  • puts yahoo.com as their blog/website URL,
  • uses randomized name of the commenter (weird sounding American and European names)

There you have it, 3 Fail Blog Comment Spam!!! 🙂

I will post more comment spam samples here in my blog soon.

Pacquiao-Margarito Post Fight Blogpost

I wrote my six predictions for the Pacquiao-Margarito bout. I think I got a decent 4 out of 6. Sure, there was no traffic congestion is the streets of Metro Manila during the entire duration of the fight. Zyrene Parsad sang the Philippine National Anthem with some minor deviations (pause near the end and the slight slang :)) but I think its all OK  (and it seems the National Historical Institute is not complaining too).

Pacquiao-Margarito related topics was a trending topic in Twitter with some topics like #Pacquiao and Filipino Pride stayed there for the next 12~24 hours. Pacquiao and Margarito related topics were in Google Trends and I even tweeted at one point that 8 out 20 topics related to the boxing match are in Google Top 20.

On the other side, I am not hearing any prominent black hat SEO campaign abusing the Pacquiao and Margarito related searches. Major AV/security blogs did not mention anything noteworthy (or maybe the crooks just stayed low profile). Although I have not diligently watched the post-fight interviews, it seems I am not seeing scene stealing moves from the chicken boxer KFC (Kentucky Floyd Chicken). Maybe we will hear from him and his camp on the coming days.

I admire Margarito. He is a very brave boxer and he got my respect. I put all the trash talks behind the game since I understand that these trash talks are part of the grand marketing plan for boxing fights like this.

But I admire Pacman more for showing his speed, skill and class in and out of the ring. A true boxer and a true gentleman he is even quoted saying, “Boxing is not for killing“. As I have not thoroughly observed the post-fight interviews, when I read about this quote from Manny I was smirking. But reading a bunch of articles I now understand that he genuinely cared for the safety of Margarito. Manny is really a great boxer and a great person.

What’s next for Manny? He mentioned that he is not scared to fight anybody and it will be up to the promoters. Yes all eyes are on the other party now (yup KFC). But the KFC’s camp seems to be on forever evasive mode but I am afraid they will run out of reasons not to fight Pacman soon. If I was Floydie, I might think of be evading too. Seeing the Tijuana Tornado in a deep mess after that 12-rounder definitely sent effective chilling effects to KFC and its clear that he doesn’t want that kind of punishment from Pacman.

But enough of that speculations. Lets savor the victory of the moment! Congrats to Manny Pacquiao!!! Mabuhay ka Pacman!!!

Pacquiao vs. Margarito Live via Sopcast, Justin.TV and Ilemi.com

Update:

Manny Pacquiao wins via Unanimous Decision!!!

Manny Pacquiao will face Antonio Margarito today for the WBC Super Welterweight World Title at the Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, Texas, USA. Some of my officemates are lucky as they are in Arlington now and most of them will be seeing the Pacman vs Tijuana Tornado live there.

But just like the Pacquiao-Cotto bout, I will be in the Philippines and I don’t want to go to fancy restaurants just to watch the fight. My bro won a pair of Pacquiao vs. Margarito tickets courtesy of Nuffnang but the venue for is just too far so we will just watch it at home via the resourceful way of Sopcast, Ilemi.com or Justin.tv

Disclaimer: I do not guarantee if the channels below will work. Some of them worked in the Pacquiao-Cotto and Pacquiao-Clottey bouts. But I will try my best to update it as soon as I checked.

Pacquiao vs. Margarito via Sopcast

sopcast links not available now

Sopcast seems to be heavily policed now, channels above returns cannot access error. You can try it again on try other options below.

Pacquiao vs. Margarito via Ilemi.com
Ilemi.com is a live streaming site. This is another option too, just go to ilemi.com and look for Pacquiao Margarito related channels.

Pacquiao vs. Margarito via Justin.TV
Justin.TV is heavily policed for the last 2 fights of Pacman so I will rule this out but you can try it also in case you have no luck with ilemi and sopcast.

You can also check for other Pacquiao vs. Margarito live stream at SpiderhamWorld and PinoyFitness.com

Pacquiao vs. Margarito on November 13, 2010

Update:

Manny Pacquiao wins via Unanimous Decision!!!

MannyPacmanPacquiao will face AntonioTijuana TornadoMargarito on November 13, 2010 (November 14 in Manila) for the vacant WBC Super Welterweight World Title belt at the Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, Texas, USA. I’m rooting for Pacman, just like what I did in the Pacquiao-Hatton, Pacquiao-Dela Hoya, Pacquiao–Cotto and Pacquiao–Clottey fights.

The bout will really be a heated one as I heard of dirty trash talks mentioning the Raps (as in hand wraps) and the Roids (as in steroids).

As Freddie Roach already gave his prediction (Manny will KO Margarito in 1st round) and even the papa of “saling-pusa” joining the prediction fracas, I think its time that I give my share too 🙂

So in the tradition of my free my six free cafe world cheats, my six free social city cheats, my six free petville cheats, my six starcraft 2 crack, my six tagalog love quotes, my six wow mounts and my free six video posts here are my six Pacquiao vs. Margarito predictions (with a twist of course)

  1. There will be no traffic congestion is the streets of Metro Manila during the entire duration of the fight
  2. The one assigned to sing the Philippine National Anthem will make some deviations (whether it be minor or a major major one I don’t know yet)
  3. #pacquiao and #margarito will be a trending topic in Twitter (maybe between 2 to 3 hours before the actual fight)
  4. Pacquiao and Margarito related topics will be in Google Trending and Yahoo Trending (maybe between 3 to 6 hours before the undercard starts)
  5. In conjunction with item 3 and 4, there will be some Black Hat SEO campaign abusing the Pacquiao and Margarito related searches. So be careful OK?
  6. And last but not the least, after the fight, a chicken boxer (with the initials of KFC) will try to steal the show by challenging the winner of the bout! 🙂

Lastly my best wishes to Pacman and Team Pacquiao!

Good-luck and God bless you Manny! Mabuhay ka Manny Pacquiao!

Menardconnect.com Supports Batangas Today

Batangas Today is a news site that provides the latest happenings in Batangas and around the world. My blogger friend invited me to be a contributing staff for Batangas Today. I asked myself: Menard what’s your connect-ion to Batangas? I thought of six reasons (in tradition of my free six video and my other free six posts) to help me with my decision:

  • My beloved province of Quezon shares border with Batangas province
  • I always pass by Batangas when I go to Quezon for vacation and holidays
  • I trace my roots to Batangas. I heard from my father and uncles that Osena’s are originally from the town of Mataas na Kahoy (Although this one needs a lot of researching in the future)
  • I like to experience new things in blogging (collab blog)
  • I like to meet new friends and interact more with the blogosphere (No Blog is an Island remember?)
  • The one who invited me is Marhgil Macuha, how can I decline the invitation?

So the die is cast and I agreed to join! 🙂

Batangas Today discusses a lot of topics like Business, Education, Entertainment, Events, Lifestyle, Politics, Sports, Science, Technology and the World. I will probably posting a lot on Technology, as that’s my area of interest (and expertise hehe 🙂 ). But as this is a new blogging experience I am willing to try other topics to broaden my experience. Wish me luck with my Batangas Today adventures!
