Comment Policy
Effective: 03.05.2009

I enjoy interacting with you and welcome your comments. They are as important as anything I write myself. To ensure that comments enhance and not detract from the blog, I’ve created this formal comment policy.

Comment Moderation
In order to maintain the integrity of the blog and its content, ALL comments, trackbacks, and pingbacks made to menardconnect.com blog are moderated. I will review and approve comments as quickly as possible. Please do not resubmit your comment if it does not appear right away.

Language and Format
This blog has a diverse audience with different sensibilities and opinions.

The following are prohibited: Use of profanity and harsh language. Racial comments. Flaming or use of threatening language.

If an entry post gets you fired up, excited, or makes you think so deeply that the words pour from you like an overflowing fountain, consider publishing it as a thought on your own blog and do trackback. If trackback is disabled,  you are welcome to leave a comment summarizing your entry with a link to continue reading it.

Ideally, your comment will be under 200 well chosen words with paragraphs as necessary; whitespace makes the content easier to read on a computer screen. If your comment is longer than that, I suggest you put it on your own blog and trackback, since I will edit or delete the comment as I deem fit (see editing comments below).

I use English and Filipino as primary languages for this blog. Comments in other languages that I cannot understand will be deleted.

Linking To Your Site and Others

Relevant links in comments are encouraged but  excessive and/or inappropriate links will be removed. Currently I use the rel=”nofollow” attribute by default.

Links to pornographic, gambling, illegal drugs and other illegal and inappropriate stuff will be deleted.

Spam and spam-like comments will also be deleted.

Any link which returns an error, leads to a site under construction, or cannot be loaded by the browser will be removed.

Off-topic links (not related to the post or the blogsite as a whole) will be deleted.

Trolling
I support the “Do NOT Feed the Troll” initiative. Trolling and troll-like behaviors will not be tolerated.

E-mail Addresses
Kindly use a valid e-mail address when commenting on the blog. It will not be displayed unless you type it in the body of your comment. Your email address will not be subscribed to any mailing list by leaving a comment. You can read my privacy policy for further details.
If you use an invalid e-mail address or one which requires any type of human interaction to confirm I’m not a spammer, your comment will be deleted — NO exceptions.

Editing Comments
I reserve the right to edit or delete comments as I feel necessary. I usually do not care on spelling and or grammatical errors, but if the comment will be beneficial to the post, I will edit the comment.

If your comment conveys a coherent thought, it may just be edited;Tirades will be deleted. At no time will I attempt to alter the core meaning of a comment.

Serious edits will be notated at the end of the comment.

Special Provisions For Comment Spam

I take comment spam seriously and and I will do my part to help combat it.

Some comment spams are linked to other malicious activities (read: malware and potentially unwanted programs). If I take comment spam seriously, I take these other malicious activities very seriously and will do my part to help combat it.
