Blog Comment Spam

Posted on November 23, 2010  in Blog Experiences

One thing I noticed in my blogs is that if the post is getting some considerable page views, comment spam will surely follow. I have created my formal comment policy to set some guidelines for legit commenter but I believe comment spammers are using some automated system of some sort so creativity in handling the situation will surely help. Yes anti-spam plugins and captcha challenge-response will help mitigate the problem but a responsible blogger know that its not a perfect solution.

So why not expose them here in my blog right?

Let me share some comment spam that I got recently so that I can share my personal views regarding each comment spam.

Comment Spam 01

Tired of obtaining low amounts of useless visitors for your website? Well i want to share with you a fresh underground tactic which makes me personally $900 per day on 100% AUTOPILOT. I really could be here all day and going into detail but why dont you simply check their website out? There is really a excellent video that explains everything. So if your seriously interested in making simple money this is the site for you. Auto Traffic Avalanche

Anything “underground” will smell fishy to me and adding USD per day figures to it will make the situation worse and will make me more cautious so “Nice try!”. This comment spam intends to optimize their Auto Traffic Avalanche keyword.

Comment Spam 02

Hey guys i want to share with you a way i make $500 daily and i only spend 15 minutes doing it a day! Anyone can do it, you dont NEED to have a website. I strongly recommend you check their website out as there is really a brilliant video that explains each thing you need to know. Check them out at Mobile Monopoly. That’s the name of the System and i recommend should you own a website that you at-least go and take a peak, you wont regret it…

Wow $500 daily, but I remember the old saying “There is no such thing as a free lunch“. This comment spam plans to boost their ranking with the keyword Mobile Monopoly.

Comment Spam 03

Why have you taken out my post? It was very helpful information and i assure atleast 1 person found it helpful unlike the rest of the comments on this site. I’ll post it again. Fed up with obtaining low numbers of useless traffic to your site? Well i want to share with you a fresh underground tactic that produces me personally $900 every day on 100% AUTOPILOT. I could truthfully be here all day and going into detail but why dont you simply check their website out? There is really a excellent video that explains everything. So if your seriously interested in producing effortless cash this is the site for you. Auto Traffic Avalanche

Again, another Auto Traffic Avalanche optimizing kiddie. This time they use the “paawa” (pity) effect asking you why did the Blog Admin deleted their previous comment (how can I delete something that I did not posted/approved in the first place).

All 3 comments share the following characteristics:

  • came from 1 IP address 🙂
  • puts yahoo.com as their blog/website URL,
  • uses randomized name of the commenter (weird sounding American and European names)

There you have it, 3 Fail Blog Comment Spam!!! 🙂

I will post more comment spam samples here in my blog soon.

  1. Interesting observation bro! 🙂
My site also attract lots of comment spammers, but I had other idea. I actually approved some of them instead of auto deleting them, especially those relevant of my topic, however their url links are totally disregards and deleted..

    1. @Ariston
The problem with the comment spam I discussed is that they are not related to my post, so exposé is a better option :p
