Yey! We have a long weekend holiday in Manila and the rest of the Philippines.
Why?
August 29, Monday was previously declared as National Heroes Day (as the last Monday of August was always a holiday 🙂 ). August 30, Tuesday is the end of Ramadan (or Eid’l Fitr) and was recently declared as a non-working holiday.
Next official holiday will be on November so it’s really a long stretch and its advisable to take some breather.
More details on the August 30 Holiday at Batangastoday.com and inquirer.net.
A lot of people are planning out of town trips as early as last week and I hope the weather cooperates with them 🙂 as the Philippines typhoon season can really be a big mean holiday spoiler.
How about you? What’s your plan for the long holiday?
