We love Angry Birds Rio for Android and given this good news we have downloaded and installed them again for the iPad. We also like the Rio movie and the love team of Blu and Jewel (we like Nigel too btw) so this Angry Birds and Rio mixup in HD will be really be exciting in iPad.
So hurry and download it now!!!
Quoting Rovio Blog:
It’s samba time! Angry Birds Rio is now Apple’s Free App of the Week for iPad and iPhone! The bestselling app has more than 200 levels of tropical fun in the exotic locations from the Rio movie.
In Angry Birds Rio, the original Angry Birds are kidnapped and taken to the magical city of Rio de Janeiro, where they eventually escape their captors and set out to to save their friends, Blu and Jewel two rare macaws and the stars of the hit motion picture, Rio. Angry Birds Rio pairs the physics-based gameplay of the original game with unique twists based on the film.

This week I did my first iPad app review (Toca Band review) post and to keep the momentum and as a follow up post to my Free iPad Apps series, I’m doing a quick write-up about Temple Run 2.
Yesterday we tried to download Temple Run 2 in both the iTunes and Google Play. Temple Run 2 is the sequel of Temple Run hit game.
We have been successful via iTunes but we have no luck at the Google Play Store.

Temple Run 2 is the same running, jumping, and sliding fun and excitement with as the previous Imangi Studios game. I love the more 3D-ish feel of Temple Run 2 (compared to the 1st game) as well as more Power Ups for grabs and the gems-save-me concept (hehe kaching-kaching). I’m just sorry for the little monkeys ๐ because a much bigger Gorilla/monkey is taking over the Temple Run 2 chase and is now running after our protagonist.

A definitely must-download game if you love the Temple Run game (and series too)!

Curiously the Temple Run 2 Download is not yet available from the Google Play Store, and the Imangi Studios official website have NOT listed it as available (as of writing this post). I heard rumors that the Temple Run 2 Download for Android will be available by next week and I hope by that time Imangi Studios official website info will also be up to date.

Over the holidays, we installed Toca Boca Toca Band app so that the kids in the family will enjoy the iPad. But I believed we, the adults enjoyed it more than the kids and this Toca Band rhythm and Toca Band lala tune became instant LSS hit for some of us during the holiday season (and beyond ๐ ).
Toca Band is an app is designed for both the iPhone and the iPad. In this app you will create your own band and let the Toca band members showcase their musical talent. There are 16 band members to choose from and you can place them on 4 part stage (front row, middle row, top row, and center stage) and they will play differently depending on which part of the stage they are placed.
What I love most about Toca Boca is that there are NO Rules. You create your own tunes and mix and you can just rock on! This iPad app was FREE during Christmastime but its now USD 1.99 and is definitely worth every cent.
Toca Boca Official Website App Description:
Toca Band is getting ready for their big concert and needs your help to mix beats and sounds together for their hit song! Toca Band is a fun and easy toy that encourages children to explore music in a new creative way! Choose from 16 different cool characters each with their own unique quirky sound and musical rhythms.
Put your band members on stage to get the music started then move them around and see what happens. Try out new band combinations, explore different sounds and while youre at it, why not give the lovable rapper, Stikk Figga something he always dreamed of: a solo performance!
With Toca Band you can play together with your kids and experiment with sounds, beats and rhythms in lots of fun ways. Guitar or opera, upbeat or downtempo lets find out what sounds best together!
Some Key Features of Toca Band App:
Background music, animation and fun sound effects.
16 colorful characters, each with their own unique sounds and moves!
48 fun sound loops that can be put together in endless combinations
Change the way each character plays by placing them further up- or downstage
Make the song the way you like it then dance along with your own moves
Combine rhythm instruments with melody and vocals
My personal favorite Toca Band Members are the following:

One of the important concepts in the Android scene is the Android Market. The Android Market is the online software store that holds most of the apps made by 3rd party developers. Android users can also search for and read comprehensive information about apps on this market.
Right now Iโm into the free apps (of course) but I am also considering buying apps that I believe is worth my hard-earned money in the future.
I came across this very interesting slides (via slideshare) about pricing of mobile apps (iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry, Windows 7 Mobile). It was presented by Distimo in Verizon Dev Community Conference 2011. If you are into Android or iPhone or iPad app development and marketing this is definitely a good read as it has good pricing and comparison data across platforms and other monetization strategy and tips for your mobile apps.
Iโm a late bloomer Android dude so forgive me for sharing this Angry Birds vid so late (after it got some 9M+ hits already).
Got this from Youtube and if you have played Angry Birds via Android or iPhone or Symbian or Chrome or Google+ (or put all other supported devices and platforms here) youโll get the point why most of us (if not all) love this video.

My fave moments and highlights:
Angry Blue Birdโs “Weeeeeeeh” at 0:26 Angry Black Birdโs eating habits from 0:30 and onwards Pigโs amazement and “Huh” at 0:47 Angry Red Bird‘s “Say what?” at 0:50
“<Bleep> off!!!” at 0:52
“Itโs all good!” at 1:02 Angry Birds theme song at 1:35
And the rest of video is all-out LOL moments already ๐
I am also doing this post so that after viewing it (the Angry Birds Peace Treaty video) you will know whatโs coming next when I say “Say what?” ๐

I was browsing the web and noted that a lot of blogs and news sites have posting on the iphone virus and iphone hacking topic. I was intrigued so I did some researching and some connecting of the dots: this week is Black Hat Security Conference week and somebody must have demo’d some iphone hacking stuffs. My guess was right ๐ quoting Cnet News
LAS VEGAS–Researchers have discovered a way to take complete control over an iPhone merely by sending special SMS messages and demonstrated it on my iPhone at the Black Hat security conference on Wednesday.
Although an attacker could exploit the hole to make calls, steal data, send text messages, and do basically anything that I can do with my iPhone, the researchers were kind and merely rendered it temporarily inoperable.
Here’s what happened: While I was talking on the phone to Charlie Miller, his partner, Collin Mulliner, sent me a text message from his phone. One minute I’m talking to Miller and the next minute my phone is dead, and this time it’s not AT&T’s fault. After a few seconds it came back to life, but I was not able to make or receive calls until I rebooted.
The name Charlie Miller rings a bell. Yup the same guy in theย Safari hack/Pwn2own early this year ๐
Researching deeper into this topic, it seems that as of posting this article there is NO actual malwareor virus exploiting this bug (yet). But what is alarming (but is not surprising for many) is that the vendor (in this case Apple) have not released a patch yet, even if the researchers have reported the bug for more than a month already.
Some media sources seemed to have “hyped” this development in Black Hat Conference and inferred to that an iphone virus will be launched on July 30. Not the first time that this kind of issues get hyped ๐
Anyway, I will be on the lookout for new developments on this issue and if there is really an in-the-wild iphone virus I will update this blog post.
