Finally, I got one of my new year’s wishes, a spanking World of Warcraft Calendar 2012 Edition.
March is nearing its end, so I will feature the March 2012 WoW Calendar here at menardconnect.com before it’s too late.
I don’t have an alliance toon now, but looking at the March 2012 artwork by Chris Rahn, the 3 characters seem to be the dwarven rulers from The Council of Three Hammers.
The Council of Three Hammers is the current regent rulers of Ironforge. After the Magni Bronzebeard was turned into stone/diamond after the events of Cataclysm they took over the reins of the dwarven kingdom of Azeroth.
On the left side is Muradin Bronzebeard, Magni’s brother and he represents the Bronzebeard clan. At the middle is Moira Thaurissan from the Dark Iron clan. She is Magni’s daughter, the widow of Emperor Dagran Thaurissan, and queen-regent to Fenran Thaurissan. On the left side is Falstad Wildhammer representing the Wildhammer clan. Moira and Magni rides the Ram racial mount while Falstad rides his Gryphon mount.
Will feature the previous months of this WoW Calendar (January and February 2012) soon…
I have written a lot of World of Warcraft posts here in Menardconnect.com ever since WoW Cataclysm was announced but I noticed that none of those posts directly relates to the World of Warcraft Philippines setting.
I have played both in the World of Warcraft retail server and the World of Warcraft private server so I guess I can post something informative here about playing World of Warcraft in the Philippines.
For this post I will focus on World of Warcraft retail servers.
If you have a good and stable Internet connection and a PC or Mac that meets the minimum requirement then you are good to go. Playing World of Warcraft up to Level 20 is FREE. Blizzard has released the World of Warcraft Starter Edition that will enable players to try out the game for free.

Quoting the Blizzard Website
What is the World of Warcraft Starter Edition?
The World of Warcraft Starter Edition allows players to access World of Warcraft for free — all you need is a Battle.net account and an Internet connection. Starter Edition players can play up to a maximum character level of 20 and are able to upgrade to a full, paid account at any time, allowing them to continue their adventures where they left off. The Starter Kit gives gamers who are interested in trying out World of Warcraft a chance to experience the game before purchasing a copy
Here are the steps:
1. Just visit
2. Register there and create your Battle.net account
3. Download the game
And you are ready to play World of Warcraft in the Philippines or wherever you are.
Choose your realm and get ready to choose between the Horde and Alliance races.
Personally, I believe level 20 is a good level cap for the free World of Warcraft Starter Edition because if you reach this level, you have a good grasp of the World of Warcraft Race and Class that you have chosen.
If you don’t like you race and class, you can create another character and try it out again.
If you like your World of Warcraft character and will like to continue, this is the time that you need to buy the game (and buy some game time too). You can buy World of Warcraft online if you have credit card, or if you want to have a boxed copy of the game, try to buy from local electronics and game stores in the Philippines like Datablitz.
The World of Warcraft vanilla and its first expansion Burning Crusade is now bundled and it come with a 30-day game time. After that you can either buy game time from local electronics/game stores or pay subscription using your credit card. And you progress in the game, you need to buy the expansion packs, Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm.
Hope the post will be helpful to those who want to try out WoW.
Before I end this post, let me share some cool video about World of Warcraft

For now I’m still undecided if I will post something about World of Warcraft Philippines private servers next 🙂
At menarconnect.com I featured the World of Warcraft Calendar 2011 Edition last August, September, October, November and December. So to complete the free six series, I am featuring the World of Warcraft Calendar 2011 cover page
It’s December already and I need to update my free wow calendar series post for the last and busiest month the year. For the month of December I am featuring the Blood Elves as they are the star of the season this month.
The December 2011 WoW calendar features the Blood Elves or Sin’dorei (“Children of the Blood” in their native Thalassian language) that first saw action in WoW during the Burning Crusade expansion. It also contains a view of their Capital: Silvermoon City, and the main artwork of a blood elf female fighter (sorry I cannot distinguish the exact class maybe she is a BE hunter or a warrior but definitely she is one hot fighter).
Like the Night Elves in September and the Tauren in August, the December WoW calendar does feature the blood elves banner and their racial hawkstriderfree wow mount.
Important dates to remember:
December 7 – Pearl Harbor Day
December 10 – Full Moon
December 21 – Hanukkah Begins
December 22 – Winter Solstice
December 24 – New Moon
December 25 – Christmas Day

December 27 – Bank Holiday for UK, Australia and New Zealand
It’s the first week of November 2011 so its time for my free wow calendar series. For the Month of November 2011, I am featuring the Draenei.
The calendar features the Draenei leader Velen as the main art, with the view of Exodar their capital, their racial Draeneiwow mount, the Elekk, and a female Draenei warrior as additional art for the calendar.

It’s October already so I need to update my free wow calendar series. For the month of Oktoberfest I am featuring the Goblin as they are the star for the Month of October 2011.
The October 2011 WoW calendar features the Goblins of Bilgewater Cartel who joined the Horde in the Cataclysm Expansion. I also contains a view of the Kezan island, three fully armored goblins standing on a beach (most probably this is near Bilgewater Harbor), and a lot of artworks for the goblin race (includes their classic and pointy look for male goblins as well artworks emphasizing on the ears, nose and chin features of the goblins.
Unlike the Night Elves in September and the Tauren in August, the October calendar does not feature the Goblin Banner and the goblin Turbo-Trike racial mount.
Important dates to remember:
October 3 – Labour Day (for S. Australia), Queen’s Birthday (for W. Australia)
October 8 – Yom Kippur
October 10 – Columbus Day and Thanksgiving (for Canada)
October 11 – Full Moon
October 24 – Labour Day (for New Zealand)
October 26 – New Moon
October 31 – Halloween
Hope you like my free wow calendar post for October.
I mentioned that August is Tauren month, but it seems I’m wrong and it may be even The Pandaren month. Why? Read on…
Blizzard filed for a trademark for “Mists of Pandaria” at the US Trademark and Patent Office. The trademark filing has the following coverage:
Computer game software; computer game discs; computer game software and related instruction manuals and guides sold together as a unit; downloadable computer game software; computer game software downloadable from a global computer network; downloadable electronic games via the internet and wireless devices; interactive multimedia computer game program; mousepads
Entertainment services, namely, providing on-line computer games; providing computer games that may be accessed via a global computer network; providing online news and information in the field of computer games; entertainment services, namely, conducting contests online and providing a website for organizing, planning and executing events between computer game players and interest groups
This is very exciting news and most of the WoW communities are abuzz with the rumor that the Mists of Pandaria will be the next World of Warcraft (WoW) Expansion.
Pandaria is the home of the Pandaren race that was introduced in Warcraft 3. Pandaren are humanoid panda-looking fighters and they love nature and good ales (drinks)

WoWWiki.com describes the Pandarian Empire below:
The Pandaren Empire was founded before the Great Sundering of the world, and is believed to be just as old as the kaldorei civilization. It shared and traded resources, goods, ideas and mystic knowledge with the haughty night elves of central Kalimdor in the years before the War of the Ancients. As the night elves’ obsession with the forces of magic drove them to the brink of madness, the gentle pandaren severed ties, withdrew and closed their borders
Hmm… as old as the Night Elves… interesting. I’ve got many questions than answers but first and foremost: Will the Pandarens stay neutral?
Below is a video of a Pandaren Brewmaster and their Warcraft 3 quotes.

For now nobody can confirm if Mists of Pandaria will really be the next World of Warcraft expansion. But who knows, maybe the upcoming Blizzcon on October 2011 will shed some light on this matter.
There are very interesting discussions at WoW Forums (especially in mmo-champion.com) so I suggest you check it out if you are interested to know.
