Free Six Info: Waveboard

I have been wondering what was that skateboard-like device that is being used by kids in our neighborhood, so I asked my niece and she told me it is called a waveboard. She borrowed one from our neighbors and happily did a demo to me on how the board works.

I find this waveboard (or wave board) interesting, so in the tradition of my free six video, my six cafe world cheats, my six social city cheats, my six Petville cheats, six Fishville tips, and my six hotel city cheats posts,  I am blogging about some six useful info about the waveboard.

1. What is a waveboard? Its difficult describe a waveboard (or wave board) so here are some pictures of it.

2. What is the difference to the traditional skateboard?
I’m not a skater boy, but my first observation is that the main difference to a skateboard is that it is actually two boards connected to a bar (as opposed to a single piece of bar for the skateboard). You can ride it like a skateboard and once you gain speed you can grind or swivel your foot (forward and backward motion) to create some propelling motion. The back of the waveboard looks like the picture below

3. Waveboard Prices

I have checked the waveboard prices in the international scene and it ranges from USD 20 to USD 100+, while waveboard prices in the Philippines ranges from PHP 500 to PHP 1000+.

4. Do you want some tips on how to ride a waveboard, view the video below

Video courtesy of youtube and awesomescreenname

5. Safety using the waveboard.
Just like the skateboard and other board devices, there are available safety gears available to avoid injuries when riding (or learning how to ride) a waveboard. The usual gears like elbow pads, knee pads, gloves, and helmet are recommended.

6. What are the other devices similar to the wave board? There are many boards similar to the waveboard. The Hi-tide, Ripboard, Blade-board, Rip Stik, and the caster board and its variants are just some examples.

Hope you liked my wave board post.

Hyatt Place Dallas Arlington

I enjoyed my stay last month at Hyatt Place Dallas Arlington, so I am featuring this place in my blog. And in the tradition of my free six video, my six cafe world cheats, my six social city cheats, my six tagalog love quotes and my six hotel city cheats, I am sharing some six pictures of Hyatt Place Dallas Arlington.

Hyatt Place Dallas Arlington is about 10 miles from the Dallas Forth Worth International Airport. For those who love sporting events it is near the Texas Rangers Ballpark as well as the Dallas Cowboy Stadium the place that hosted the Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey bout. It is also very near the Six Flags over Texas (can be seen in the background of the next photo)

I had my first snowfall here last month 🙂

Some of the things I like most about this place are the big and comfy rooms

And nice entertainment system and complimentary wifi too

They also serve complimentary continental breakfast

And their snack bar serves great food 🙂

They also provide complimentary transportation to the airport and nearby places.

If ever I will go again to Arlington, Texas I’ll definitely stay again in this place 🙂

Taipei Visit 2010

I was of official business in Taipei this week so there was not much posts in Menardconnect.com. Time to catch up so in the tradition of my six cafe world cheats, my six petville cheats, my six fishville cheats, my six mafia wars Bangkok tips, and my free six video post, here are six photos of my favorite foodstuffs in Taipei for this trip

1. Fried Chicken Curry Rice

On one of my solo adventures, I have feasted on this Fried Chicken Curry Rice from one of the food court at a nearby mall in Dun Hua. It’s an adventure since I do not usually like curry and spicy food but this one turns out fine.

2. Beef Noodles Wins

My JM (Project Manager) brought me to this nice noodle house and he let me try this delicious beef noodles. What so special about this beef noodles? He says that Taipei City have an annual contest for the best noodles in town and this beef noodle is the winner of the 2007 contest. For me this one deserves its win!

3. Lifesaver: Mos Burger

As per my previous Taipei visit, Mos Burger saved my day again. On the first day, I was not on the adventurous mood so I decided to have a quick bite at Mo’s Burger. While waiting for the Teriyaki chicken burger, I grabbed my phone camera and took a picture of my hot and tasty mushroom soup and drink.

4. Another Curry: Beef this time

One of my colleagues treated me to nearby restaurant. Since I just had noodles last time, I tried another rice curry dish. This time its beef and again I requested that it should not be spicy. We had some great talk about life and politics in Taiwan and Philippines

5. Guava Juice

One of my favorite fruit juices here in Taipei and I buy one or two tetra pack to bring back to Manila. I’m posting the photo here so that if some teammate will be kind enough to buy me one as pasalubong, I will redirect him/her to this post 🙂

6. Raven’s Favorite: White Grape Juice

This one is a real winner! This is Raven’s favorite and we love the unique taste of this white grape juice and its grape pulp. This is best served chilled. Recently this brand was made available in plastic bottle so I brought some in tetra and in the bottle. Again, I’m posting the photo here so that if some good soul will buy me one as pasalubong but he/she does not know how the product look like, I will redirect him/her here 🙂

Sorry no Din Tai Fung and Xiaolongbao this time, but this visit is still a good experience for me. Til next time again Taipei! Hopefully with Raven na!

Free Six Info: Facebook PetVille Cheats and Tips

Petville is one of the hottest games in town now. It is the newest –Ville game from Zynga (following the footsteps of the Fishville, YoVille and Farmville). And in the tradition of the my six Cafe World Cheats, my six FishVille Cheats, my six Mafia Wars Cheats, my six Mybrute cheats, my six Farm Town Cheats, my six Social City Cheats and my Free Six Video posts I am sharing some six info, tips and cheats for Facebook Petville.

petville-welcome

#1. PetVille is a Virtual Pet game in Facebook (and Myspace too). This is a fun game and it has a cute and catchy soundtrack especially the one in the intro.

At first, you will be asked to customized how your pet will look and then you can groom and play with your pet. Some important games concepts in Petville includes the love points, which is very much similar to XP (experience points) and of course Petville coins.

#2. Ok lets go into the PetVille tips: How do you get coins and love points? In your own PetVille room you can feed your pet using the food bowl:

petville-feedtime

And clean your pet (by rubbing the soap)

petville-bathtime

and Pick up trash in your room.

#3. Next PetVille Tip is to get many Neighbors and send them free PetVille gifts

PetVille is a social game and neighbors are important in getting more coins and love points and therefore your pet will level up faster. When you start the game there is automatically 1 neighbor for the Petville (her name is Nosie). On the 1st visit to neighbor there will be short demo. But if you did not pay attention, its ok just proceed to the next tip

#4. Next PetVille Tip on getting more coins and love points: When you get to a neighbor’s house the first thing to do is play with the neighbor. You need to pick if you want to high five, gossip, tickle, dance, kiss or handshake the other pet.

petville-play

My favorite is of course to Dance since they seem to do a cute dance like the Wonder Girls: Nobody Nobody But You 😀

visit-dance

Then you can clean and bathe the neighbor’s pet

_visit-clean-pet

And then you can clean the neighbor’s house for unwanted thrash

visit-clean-room1

After cleaning there will be an indicator on how many trash are left

clean-room2

Take note that trash is not just on the ground, some are up there somewhere

clean-room-up

Its advisable to clean all trash so that you will have a Good Housekeeping Bonus, for more extra coins and love points

clean-room-for-bonus

#5. And the next on my Petville Cheats and Tips list: The fastest way to earn love points is to buys furniture and stuffs in the store.

buy furnitures from the store

#6. And lastly my final Petville tip: Do not cheat! Why? Similar to what I advised on my Fishville Cheats, Cafe World Cheats, Mafia Wars Cheats, Farm Town Cheats and Mybrute Cheats posts: Cheaters never win! There will be other blog posts out there encouraging you to use some cheat tools and cheat engines but I recommend that you DO NOT run executable programs unless you know 100% what these tools will do to your PC or Mac (on the file, system and registry level via reverse engineering, system monitoring, etc.) There are a lot of malware, spyware, keyloggers, and Trojan downloaders out there that are disguised as cheat engines and cheat tools so better be not the next victim OK?

Hope you like my Facebook Petville Cheats and Tips post. I will be posting some other Petville tips here in my blog soon to so don’t forget to subscribe to my blog.

Free Six Info: Mafia Wars Cheats and Tips

Update 09.07.2009
I have posted new mafia wars tips on

Searching for some Mafia Wars Cheats or Tips? Then you are on the right site.

My high school buddies are asking me why I don’t write about Mafia Wars Cheats just like what I do with Farm Town Cheats. I told them that I will create one in due time. I remember this Mafia Wars game app in Facebook several months ago. Many of my friends liked it and invited me in, but since I am not a Facebook addict (yet) I just ignored their app request. But now that I’m enjoying the game I will be sharing my findings. In the tradition of my free six video, my six mybrute cheats and tips posts, my six cafe world cheats, my six fishville cheats and my six farm town cheats, I am sharing some Free Six Info on Facebook Mafia Wars Cheats and Tips.

#1. First, you should have a Facebook Account. Why? Because Mafia Wars is a application/game in Facebook. If you still do not have a Facebook account because you are living in an isolated world, try grabbing one: go to facebook.com and register for a free account.

#2. Mafia Wars is a product of Zynga. Zynga is the same company behind the other great games in Facebook like FarmVille, Texas Hold ’em Poker, YoVille, Vampire Wars and Fashion Wars.

#3. My next tip is to get into the game and gain experience points to level up. Doing a Job or fighting other Mafiosi can give you experience points. If you plan of doing some jobs, you will need energy while fighting other mafia players will require stamina. If you have some money already I suggest buying some properties later in the game.

#4. Next tip will be to use up skill points as soon as you have received them. Skill points are awarded whenever you level up, mastered a job or mastered a job tier (e.g. Street Thug Job Tier). These skill points are very useful in the game. If you are not decided on where to put you skill points, my suggestion is to put it in energy, so that you can perform more jobs.

5. “Ask and you shall receive!” This saying is very true in Mafia Wars. If you need help on finishing a job or need some items, loots, ask your friends and post it in your Facebook wall. Mafia Wars is a social game and I know if some of your Facebook friends are into Mafia Wars they will gladly help you since they the two of you earn both some money and experience by helping each other.

#6. And to complete the free six: last but not the least: DO NOT CHEAT! Why? Like what I advised on my MyBrute Cheats post and my Farm Town Cheats post: Cheaters never win! Hey guys and gals Mafia Wars is a social game, and there is really no need to cheat. Also beware of the executable programs that supposedly will do some cheat and tricks for you and your Mafia. Many sites are offering these kinds of tools and engines, but unless you know what you are doing (read: can reverse-engineer an executable file and know exactly what it is doing your PC or Mac (file, system, registry level) then don’t try to run it on your machine. There are a lot of malware, keyloggers, and Trojan downloaders out there that is just waiting to trick and fool you. Better safe than sorry!

I will be doing another post when I have new tips for Mafia Wars!

Hope you like my Facebook Mafia Wars Cheats and Tips post.

Enjoy the game!

I’m a Guerilla Blogger and I’m Proud to be One

On my post last week, I promised that I’d be doing some link love post as a sign of my appreciation to my blogging “mentors”. So here we go:

Before I was quietly living my normal life as a normal office person (read what I do full time here) who’s into LAN/online gaming and have some good share of gimmick time too. Some of my “perceived” handicap on blogging:

  • I’m not into web designing
  • I don’t like to code/ to program
  • I’m not a good writer. Most of the time I love my “barok” English
  • I have little interest in blogging (aside from my personal fun diary in blogspot.com that I update once in a blue moon)

Then came the Guerilla Blogging concept. I’m referring to the ebook of Marhgil of Macuha.com and Zigfred of Zdiaz.com. So what did I do? I am hesitant at first, but what the heck, let me give it a try:

  • I owned/pwned menardconnect.com (OK the correct term should be register my domain)
  • Signed up for some web hosting
  • Decided to use WordPress and tried out several free themes
  • Applied the concepts that they wrote in the ebook
  • Experimented with some stuffs and keep on writing
  • Added a little bit of me and more of me along the way (Yup I personalized, I think thats the art of blogging)

And the rest is … history… written on menardconnect.com 🙂
Some notable highlights are PR update, PR Part 2 and first google adsense check and more to come (Yes. This is a declaration that there will be more to come).

Don’t get me wrong; I’m not claiming that I’m a blogging expert now. I admit that I’m still a newbie/noob in blogging and this blog-thing will be a continuous learning process for me. I’m also not bragging about my milestones. What I’m posting here is the story of My Blog and Me. I’m sharing the experience and in doing so may I hope that this post serve as a testament that I did this and maybe it can be an encouragement/inspiration that you can do it too.

So who are these 2 guys: this Marghil Macuha and this Zigfred Diaz? For me they are two normal Pinoy dudes. They have a full-time job (Marhgil is an IT-guy, Zigfred is a lawyer). As the ebook put it

The authors themselves hold other jobs and wear several hats while at the same time excelling on how to make cash online

I initially thought they were either snobs or elitists or will try to sell me something if I approach them. It turned out I was wrong. They are very friendly people and they entertained my questions on blogging. They shared their tricks and tips in blogging freely. They even inspired me when I was contemplating of giving up on my blog.

Not to spoil the ebook, but I’m sharing some key learning’s that I had (maybe make it free six in the tradition of my free six video, six MyBrute Cheats, six Farm Town Cheats and more free six to come)

#1. Get a blog and start blogging.

Whether this be a free blog or a hosted one, the important thing is start one and get it moving.

#2. Join Communities and interact with them

“No Man is an Island” and “No Blog is an island”. Very true. I’m guilty that I have very little interaction with the community and my fellow bloggers but I promise that I will do my best to reach out more.

#3. SEO + Optimization

I admit that given my background and my line of work, I am very much wary of SEO in the beginning. But later on I realized that “SEO is not bad” (hey this is worth some post in the future) but like any other useful tool out there, it can be used in a bad way (read: cyber criminals and Blackhat SEO).

#4. Ads + Monetization

There are a lot of options on how to earn from your blog. The ebook have some examples and you will discover more along the way. Try out some and see if it will work for you. I know not all options will work, but the key here is to pick what will fit for you and your blog.

#5. Content is still KING

Write good content that people will find interesting to read (and not just please big G and other crawlers). I am striving to be better on this area since I believe this will be beneficial in the long run

#6. Blog about your passion/s

Yes, there will be times that you will have no idea on what to blog and you will be discouraged to blog and get back to the “old life”. But if you blog about things you like, things you love, things you are passionate about then it will be easier to write a post and keep on blogging.

Wow! Post is too long na (800+ words already) I got carried away 🙂
If you want to get the complete ebook you can get it from  Zigfred’s or Marhgil’s sites

I heard that they are cooking up the next version of the ebook: maybe a Guerilla Blogging Ebook 2.0 (two-dot-oh). So watch out for it soon, I’ll keep you posted!

Let me end this by saying “Marhgil and Zigfred, Thank you very much!!!

P.S.
Other Pinoy bloggers who helped me in one way or another deserve some link love posts too, but alas, that’s worth another post or two in the future.

Free Six Ambigram Info

We watched Angels & Demons movie last month at TriNoma Cinema and the movie introduced the concept of Ambigram. I researched here are there and finally in the tradition of my free six video, my six mybrute cheats and tips and my six Facebook Farm Town Cheats and Tips posts, I am sharing my Free Six Ambigram Info and images that I have researched.

1. What is Ambigram?
Wikipedia defines it as:

a typographical design or artform that may be read as one or more words not only in its form as presented, but also from another viewpoint, direction or orientation. The words readable in the other viewpoint, direction or orientation may be the same or different from the original words.

Wiktionary have 2 defs:

a design that may be read in two different ways

A design that may be read as the same word or phrase (or sometimes two different words or phrases) when oriented in two different ways, usually when reflected in a vertical axis or when rotated through 180 degrees

2. A better way to illustrate an Ambigram is to show some example
Below is an animated image example:

<image courtesy of Wikimedia Commons and Splarka>

3. Another example is the mirror image “Wiki” word Ambigram

<image courtesy of Wikipedia>

4. Ambigram was popularized by the Movie Angels & Demons. Want to know more, visit the official movie website

5. John Langdon, the creator of the Ambigram used in the movie have some very useful and extensive information on The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons and some different types of Ambigrams. Feel free to visit John Langdon’s Ambigram page.

6. Ambigram Tattoos are cool. If you want to try out some Ambigram generator, view some tattoo gallery and stencils, feel free to visit the wowtattoos.com site

Hope you find these info useful.

Do you have other Ambigram info? Feel free to share them by leaving some comments here.

Happy Father’s Day

To all the fathers/dads/papas/tatays out there… Happy Father’s Day!!!

Special greets to my Papa (Hope you enjoy the Kopi Tiam Dinner), my Tatay in Laguna (Raven and I will be there in Laguna later), my brothers (both here in and out of the country), my uncles, my ninongs and my barkada-friend-daddies 🙂

Just like what I said on Mother’s Day I’m not the poetic person. But I’m great in searching the internet for some inspirational and funny quotes for this special day.  And of course in the tradition of my free six video, my six mybrute cheats and tips and my six Facebook Farm Town Cheats and Tips posts, I am sharing some Free Six Father’s Day Quotes:

A father is a banker provided by nature.” – French Proverb

The older I get, the smarter my father seems to get.” – Tim Russert

It is a wise child that knows his own father.” – Homer Simpson

A father carries pictures where his money used to be.” -Anonymous

Never raise your hand to your kids. It leaves your groin unprotected.” – Red Buttons

By profession, I am a soldier and take pride in that fact. But I am prouder – infinitely prouder – to be a father. A soldier destroys in order to build; the father only builds, never destroys. The one has the potentiality of death; the other embodies creation and life. And while the hordes of death are mighty, the battalions of life are mightier still. It is my hope that my son, when I am gone, will remember me not from the battle field but in the home repeating with him our simple daily prayer, ‘Our Father who art in Heaven.’” – Douglas Macarthur

Happy Father’s Day!!!
